International Scientific Center of the Social and Economic Systems Research

The prior activities of the Center target international scientific cooperation within euroregion “Yaroslavna”, which was created on the territory of Kursk region (Russia) and Sumy region (Ukraine).

Euroregion–is a widely spread form of international cooperation in Europe, which is targeted at close cooperation among the territorial formations, which are situated on the frontier territories of the neighbouring countries.

Euroregion “Yaroslavna” has become the third region on the Ukrainian and Russian border. Earlier, in 2003, there were created euroregions “Dnepr” and “Slobozhanschyna”. The euroregions are primarily tasked with implementation of cross-border programs and projects aimed at development of infrastructure, business, ecological policy, tourism, education and science.

The International Scientific Center of the Social and Economic Systems Research was designed on the base of the fruitful cooperation among the scientists, teacher and post-graduate students from the World and National Economics Department of Kursk State Technical University of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia (KurskSTU), from one hand, and the Economics Department of Sumy State University of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (SSU), from another.

The cooperation is based on the following issues: holding mutual conferences and seminars, giving open lectures, publishing collective monographs, publication articles in the scientific journals of KurskSTU and SSU.

The foundation for cooperation has been laid since Partnership agreement between SSU and KurskSTU was signed in May 2009, on the base of which an Agreement on creation of the International Scientific Center of the Social and Economic Systems Research was concluded afterwards. Within the frames of the Agreement, a head of the World and National Economics Department Prof. N.V. Minakova and a head of Economics Department Prof. L.G. Melnyk adopted a Statute on the International Scientific Center of the Social and Economic Systems Research, which currently supports research and educational development of the Center.
